The previous course of the Texas Citizen Planner Program was a 6-session training course for local, appointed officials, and other planning-related professionals.
The program covered planning concepts every local official needs to know, including:
- Planning topics and trends for a positive community vision and quality of life
- How to use planning tools to improve development
- Legal and technical aspects of planning

Available Continuing Education Credits (CEUs):
1.5 CEUs – Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) through The Association of State Floodplain Managers, Inc. (ASFPM)- AICP credits: 1.5 CM from the American Planning Association for each session (9 CM in total)
